SIMEON & THE ALCHEMYSTS

In honor of the passing of Simeon Coxe we decided to feature Simeon & The Alchemysts as our first Tee Pee Annex: Flashback Fridays. We recently dug around in the vaults and unearthed a number of incredible early Rubric and Tee Pee Records releases. Stay tuned for more.

The Alchemysts & Simeon:

Born of an onstage jam between oscillator space-rock pioneer Simeon Coxe of the Silver Apples and upstart garage rocking British band The Alchemysts at the spring 1998 Terrastock Festival in SF.

The collective entered a proper studio later that year to track and release this one-off collaboration on Nick Saloman’s (Bevis Frond) label Woronzow, and subsequently via Rubric Records in North America. The result is a loud and psychedelic mix that sounds as good in the headphones as it does blasting through speakers.
