Burning Love was born in 2007 as a side project to our bands Cursed and Our Father. The idea was, despite our differences of age, generation and frame of reference, to channel our varied favorites (from Black Flag and Hot Snakes to Kyuss or Turbonegro) and make some loud and riff driven punk songs that were different enough from what either of our previous bands were playing to be a challenge to us.
Following the sudden death of Cursed in 2008, we took Burning Love to the front burner, touring extensively at home and overseas and releasing two EPs in the UK and North America before releasing our first LP Songs For Burning Lovers (Deranged Records) in 2010 in the middle of an ambitious 50 show North American tour with our friends in Coliseum. Thus far, we've also had the pleasure of touring and playing shows with bands like Fight Amp, Vicious Cycle, Doomriders, Municipal Waste, Saviors, Dropdead, Nails, Crass, Fucked Up, Omegas, High On Fire, Kylesa, Torche, Rot In Hell, The Horror, Kim Phuc, Eddy Current, Complications, Warcry, Nomos, and many more.
This summer we head out with Converge, Trap Them and Dropdead, and have further tours of the US and Canada planned beyond that, including stops at Sound & Fury, Chaos In Tejas and a return to The Fest. We're currently writing our second LP, tentatively titled Rotten Thing To Say. Meantime, a split 5" with the UK's Rot In Hell, a track on the City Limits compilation LP, a split 7" with Fight Amp and of course the live LP with our boys Coliseum from a loud and sweaty night in Gainesville, are all in the oven.
