"The axe-wrecking guitar work of frontman J Mascis has always been one of Dinosaur Jr.'s prime selling points, but Mascis started out as the drummer in the Massachusetts hardcore band Deep Wound. More recently, he's hit the skins for the stoner-rock group Witch in a vaguely perverse use of his side-project time. And in Sweet Apple, his newest band, Mascis is once again behind the drums...though, he also plays guitar and sings in the band."
