Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound kick off US tour with Sleepy Sun

Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound kick off a three week US tour with fellow San Francisco natives Sleepy Sun tomorrow night at Union Pool in Brooklyn, NY. The tour will be in support of Assemble Head's critically acclaimed third album "When Sweet Sleep Returned" released in April on Tee Pee Records.

“Sunlit, pot-addled, West Coast rock-pop perfection.”

Two of the finest bands to emerge from the 21st century San Francisco psychedelic renaissance—Assemble Head In Sunburst Sound and Sleepy Sun—will join forces this September for a three-week, coast-to-coast freakout. The tour, which officially kicks off in Providence, Rhode Island on September 17, will cover 17 dates in New England, Canada, and the Midwest before winding up October 4 in Portland, Oregon. Both bands will also play dates in New York City in the days leading up to the tour kickoff.

The cross-country caravan unites the two bands in performance for the first time outside of California. But they have already joined forces for several epic throwdowns in Northern California—including an upcoming July 31 Big Sur date with Dead Meadow—and worked together in the studio, with Bret Constantino and Evan Reiss of Sleepy Sun lending harmony vocals on the latest Assemble Head release When Sweet Sleep Returned. Heaven knows what mayhem will unfold on this road ramble.

Assemble Head in Sunburst Sound’s third LP—and second on Tee Pee Records—When Sweet Sleep Returned, has garnered its share of raves. And the new album finds the band moving outward from its foundation as a garage-and-Floyd-inflected heavy psych combo into sunnier, celestial, and soulful territory that conjures ghosts of Spiritualized and the Byrds while serving up molten slabs of wrecking ball, White Light scuzz n’ roll. And in performance, the band ranges from high-energy fuzz thuggery to delicate reveries peppered with flute, 12-string guitar, and boy-girl harmonies.

Earthless and Iron Age Announce Tour Dates with Baroness

This is music for fans of fucking furious, tight, beer-soaked, basement mosh-pit party metal like Trash Talk and Bison B.C., Metallica Ride The Lightning-era guitar riffs pushed to the fullest and real in every way with nary a speck of hipster retro throwback. The Sleeping Eye kicks as much ass as any thrash-influenced record released all year - MetalSucks

In the deepest parts of Southern California, the San Diego area to be exact, lays a psychedelic throne currently occupied by a trio called Earthless. The sound is directed towards a kraut-rock feel, adapting psychedelic guitar solos to a steady pulsing rhythm reminiscent of John Paul Jones and John Bonham. - Thrasher Magazine

Shortly after releasing the sprawling modern heavy metal opus that is their new album, "The Sleeping Eye," out now on Tee Pee Records, hardcore's newly embraced Texas gems, IRON AGE, have announced regional US dates supporting the mighty Baroness this Winter. In addition, the band has also announced they'll be coming to New York City (as well as various East Coast dates along the way) this October, shortly before they head to Europe w/ Deathwish recording artists Rise and Fall.

Joining Iron Age on said Baroness dates are Southern California's psychedelic rock assault that is EARTHLESS. Known for being every other band's favorite band, EARTHLESS features members Mario Rubalcaba (ex-Rocket From the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Blackheart Procession, Clickatat Ikatowi) on drums, Isaiah Mitchell (Nebula, Drunk Horse) on guitar and Mike Eginton (Electric Nazarene) on bass, and deliver one of the best live shows in all of modern, heavy rock today.

Hopewell perform @ All Tomorrow's Parties//Warm up shows w/ Dead Meadow//Daytrotters session.

We're incredibly stoked to tell you that Hopewell's Daytrotter session has gone live and is ready for your listening pleasure. Check it out HERE .

If you're in NYC this week, Hopewell are playing three awesome shows around the area -- one of which is a special performance at All Tomorrow's Parties in Monticello, NY. The Flaming Lips asked the band to perform on their curated Sunday date but asked them to do something a little different. Curious to see what they've put together but can't make it upstate? Come out to the Cameo Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn this Thursday, Sept. 10th where they'll be performing the piece dubbed the "The Desperation Suite," complete with a female choir and avant-garde saxophonist Mark Marinoff. If psychedelic jams on the high seas is more your speed, come hang with us on the Rocks Off boat cruise this Wednesday, Sept. 9th, where Hopewell will play with Matador Records' Dead Meadow.
